Four Local Restaurants You May Have Missed

Even if you’re well-acquainted with the Gainesville restaurant scene, you may have missed a few gems. But don’t worry — we’re here to help. Check out these four local restaurants you definitely won’t want to miss.

Chicken Ten & Four

You might not think Japanese fried chicken is quite what you’re hungry for, but Chicken Ten & Four will prove you wrong! Serving spicy, extra-crispy Japanese-style fried chicken with a killer dipping sauce, this unique Asian fusion restaurant also serves Japanese curry and bubble tea, a sweet, frozen drink with tapioca balls. Chicken Ten & Four is located at 7929 Heritage Village Plaza and is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Club Eclipse

Club Eclipse’s slogan is “Food, Spirits, Entertainment,” and they deliver all three, serving much more than traditional club fare! We like the Roasted Lemon Chicken — served with fingerling potatoes and Greek sauce — as well as their homemade meatloaf. Best of all, stay after you’ve finished dinner for the club’s entertainment offerings, including regular DJs, comedy nights, and dueling piano evenings. Club Eclipse (located at 5615 Wellington Road, Suite 101) is open Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. until 12 p.m., Fridays, and Saturdays from 3 p.m. until 2 a.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 12 a.m.

Byblos Restaurant

This unassuming Haymarket restaurant has quickly risen to become the highest-reviewed restaurant on Gainesville’s Yelp. Serving delicious Lebanese specialties like labneh — a yogurt dip with olive oil perfect for dipping pita — and chicken kebab plates (served with charbroiled chicken and roasted vegetables), Byblos has been praised by Yelpers for its take on traditional Lebanese cuisine. Drop by Byblos (located at 6850 Piedmont Center Plaza) any day of the week from 11 a.m. On Friday and Saturday nights, the restaurant is open until 10 p.m., and every other night it’s open until 9 p.m.

CAVA

CAVA is a new restaurant chain that’s sweeping the nation — and now, there’s one right in our area! Create your own custom Mediterranean meal, starting with a base of greens or grains and adding sauces or spreads like hummus. Next, add either a vegetarian protein (like falafel) or meat (like braised lamb or grilled meatballs). Toppings include diced cucumber and Kalamata olives. The next time you want a quick, tasty lunch or dinner, stop by CAVA at 13959 Promenade Commons Street; the restaurant is open every day from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., and service is quick!
