According to Real Estate Business Intelligence, the month of March was a strong one for Prince William County. Although the spring season is typically busy in the home real estate market, sales are sluggish across the country. In Prince William County, however, home sales showed a year-over-year increase of 19.9 percent.
This demonstrates strong market growth, since the Northern Virginia region showed only a 9.73 percent increase year-over-year and the entire mid-Atlantic region 7.76 percent year-over-year increase.
Additionally, the median selling price of homes increased 12.22 percent year-over-year, to $303,000. Selling prices for Northern Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic Region are up 9.59% and 9.42% respectively.
If you are thinking of selling, or have tried selling before, you’ll be pleased to know that the average number of days on the market has decreased more than 25 percent since this time last year. Industry experts attribute this to the rising demand for the few homes on offer. Homes for sale are at record lows across the country. As prices rise, it may lure more sellers onto the market.
